GE is proud to announce the opening of Europe's first Smart Grid Centre. The new centre located at GE's U.K. headquarters in Bracknell will demonstrate how the smart grid can improve energy efficiency, reliability and empower customers to control costs.

The Smart Grid Centre in the UK provides Kelman the opportunity to present its DGA Transformer Online Monitoring products and capabilities in a live simulation environment.  Accurate insight of the condition of transformers is essential for all electrical networks and on-line monitoring of critical transformers has become increasingly important. The knowledge gained from closely monitoring expensive transformers can maximize its longevity and avoid expensive failures.

DGA monitors – what they do for you…

  • Avoid unplanned outages and loss of revenue
  • Delay capital expenditure
  • Target budget where needed
  • Lower O&M costs
  • Insight into asset condition
  • Act as low-cost real time insurance against failures

By demonstrating technology solutions in a smart grid context, the European Smart Grid Centre reveals how advances can work together to improve reliability and efficiency across the energy system. At GE's Smart Grid Centre, visitors will experience the vision of GE and collaborating companies for a new way of thinking about energy.
